“For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Romans 8:38-39 (NRSV)

This powerful passage from Romans articulates the unfailing nature of God’s love for us, no matter how alone we feel.  Of all the scriptures I used during my time as a hospital chaplain this past summer, this seemed to have the most impact on my patients and has been one of my favorite verses since then.
